Wyoming Landscape
Through the Jentel Artist Residency program in Sheridan, Wyoming, I was able to explore sculptural painting at a much smaller scale than the work shown at Haze Gallery and the 2006 Oregon Biennial. These small works represent my personal response to the environment, landscape and history of a quintessential piece of the wild west, the former stomping grounds of General Custer, Buffalo Bill Cody and Chief Red Cloud. My emphasis is on a color palette that reflects the wide sky, snow covered hills and black cattle.
